Holy Family Prayer Garden

Enjoy an afternoon of excellent food and incredible entertainment when the Latin Flavor Carnival returns to Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, on Sunday, July 14! Beginning at 11:00 am in the Holy Family Prayer Garden, you will be treated to a feast of sights, sounds, and tastes! The menu for the day will include tacos, burritos, quesadillas, pozole, barbacoa, crispy tacos, pupusas, fruit coolers, spiced fruit, ice cream cones and sundaes, and much more! While you enjoy delicious food, you can play carnival games, like balloons darts and ring toss, try out the new 360-degree photo booth, and listen to live music from D.J. Estrella! From 12:00 to 2:00 pm, we will offer the Show4Kids featuring children’s music, and at 3:00 pm, the Ballet Folklórico Xanharati dance group will perform. Join the fun at 5:00 pm and compete in the dance and jalapeño contests. Children will have baskets full of Easter fun at Holy Family’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt following the 10:00 am Mass at Holy Family Church on Easter Sunday, March 31! Children will search the Prayer Garden for hundreds of hidden eggs, and in the event of inclement weather, they will hunt in the Holy Family Hall. Children are welcome to bring their own baskets, but bags will be provided. Interested in volunteering?  Volunteers will meet in Holy Family Hall during Communion at the 10:00 am Mass and be assigned two doors, where they will hand out bags to children and release different age groups into the Prayer Garden when it is time for the hunt. They will also assist in decoration clean-up after. In the event of inclement weather, the hunt will take place in the hall. Grab your lederhosen and bring the whole family to Oktoberfest at Holy Family Church & Prayer Garden on Saturday, October 7! This festival will begin at 4:00 pm with a special Mass featuring Readings and music in both English and German. Then, following the Mass, take to the Prayer Garden (Holy Family Hall in event of rain) to enjoy music from the German folk band, Dorf Kapelle, and activities for people of all ages including: giant yard games, an inflatable obstacle course, makers market, petting zoo, balloon twister, cotton candy, and basket raffle! As you have fun, you can purchase brats, potato salad, food from our Hispanic community, soup, homemade desserts, soda, beer, and more! We will close out the night with a chance to win a cash prize when you play trivia beginning at 8:15 pm in the Holy Family Hall. Admission is free!     ​

-  Bring the whole family to the Holy Family Prayer Garden for our Back-to-School Concert featuring the Catholic Family Band MJMJ on Saturday, August 27 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. MJM7 is a Catholic family band comprised of Michael James Mette and his children: Charity (15), Cecilia (14), and MJ (12). The Mette's gifts of music, joy, and family life offer the boldness and innocence of youth with the wisdom and depth of lived experiences. The events fall somewhere between a rock concert and a parish mission, with vibrant lights, powerful music, faith sharing, and an invitation to prayer. This concert is free, but goodwill donations will be accepted! Please bring your own lawn chair. In the event of rain, the concert will take place in Holy Family Church. We are also looking for people to sign-up to bring two dozen, ready-to-serve and easy-to-eat, baked items, for the MJM7 music concert on Sunday, August 27. Mark your calendars for Holy Family Catholic Community’s Latin Flavor Carnival on Sunday, July 16 at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way. The festival will begin in the Prayer Garden following the 10:00 am Mass at the church and include a variety of traditional foods from throughout Latin America, including tacos, tamales, pozole, nachos, arepas, corn cocktails, aguas frescas/fruit coolers, and sweet treats. While you enjoy delicious food, you can play carnival games, as well as listen to music from DJ Estrella and Massive Show! At 3:00 pm the Ballet Folklórico Xanharati dance group will perform, and be followed from 4:00 to 6:00 pm by the Show4Kids featuring kids’ music, dance and singing contests. Mass in Spanish will be offered at noon in the church. In the event of rain, the carnival will take place in Holy Family Hall. Admission is free, and food will be available for purchase. Those who attend are asked to park in the church’s west parking lot.
